Translucent white gypsum, carved into a heart that glows rather than simply reflects.
Selenite is gypsum — calcium sulfate dihydrate (CaSO⊂4;·2H⊂2;O) — a mineral that crystallized in ancient evaporite basins as saltwater seas slowly concentrated and dried. Its parallel molecular structure transmits light through the stone rather than bouncing it off the surface, producing that characteristic soft luminescence. This piece is carved and polished into a heart shape, the form catching light along its curves. Mohs hardness 2; water-soluble over time — do not submerge.
The ancient Greeks named the stone for Selene, goddess of the moon. Selenite appears in burial contexts across ancient Egypt and in ceremonial objects across Mesoamerican cultures. In the chakra tradition it is associated with the crown and third-eye chakras.
A carved display piece or gift — the heart form reads clearly on a shelf or altar, where light can move through it.
Every crystal is hand-picked for exceptional beauty, quality and energetic integrity, then vortex-charged in Sedona’s sacred energy. This process infuses each piece with a high-frequency presence, delivering a crystal experience that feels as powerful as it looks.
