HISTORY: Hemimorphite is a very unique blue stone predominantly mined in China; in fact it is sometimes referred to as Chinese Larimar. However there is also a mine that supplies Hemimorphite in Mexico. This stone was identified in 1853 by Adolph Kenngott, a German mineralogist who noticed it as a component of a zinc-dominant formation called Calamine.
