HISTORY: Rhodochrosite crystals typically form as stalagmites in abandoned silver mines, and are sometimes called “Incan Rose,” due to the fact that a substantial number of the Rhodochrosite crystals available have been found in former Incan mines. Due to the length of time it takes for Rhodochrosite to form, it is somewhat rare to find a fully formed Rhodochrosite deposit.
