Every bead a cross-section of a process that took centuries.
Rhodochrosite is manganese carbonate (MnCO3) that forms by slow hydrothermal deposition inside open cavities, laying down rings of pink and cream as fluid chemistry shifts over time. When cut into beads, those rings appear as concentric bands across each sphere—and because the deposition is never perfectly uniform, no two beads are identical. Mohs 3.5—4; handle with some care.
The most celebrated banded material comes from old mining districts in Argentina, where the stone has historically been called "Incan Rose." Additional significant deposits are known from Colorado and South Africa. In the chakra tradition rhodochrosite is linked to the heart and higher heart chakras.
A bracelet for someone who wants the geological process as visible as the color.
