Rose quartz is a variety of macrocrystalline quartz colored pale to deep pink by trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese within the crystal lattice. Unlike most quartz varieties, rose quartz rarely forms well-defined crystal faces—it grows in massive form, and its color is often distributed unevenly through the stone. This pendant uses a raw piece in solid .925 sterling silver, preserving the stone's natural fracture surfaces and translucency.

Quartz beads fashioned from rose-colored material have been recovered from Mesopotamian sites dating back nearly 9,000 years, making this one of the longest-used ornamental stones in the archaeological record. In the chakra tradition, rose quartz is placed with the heart chakra and associated with love, compassion, and patience.

Selenite is a crystalline form of gypsum (calcium sulfate dihydrate, CaSO&sub4;·2H&sub2;O), Mohs 2, with a distinctive fiber-optic luminescence and a silky, striated cleavage surface. It is one of the few minerals that is not itself piezoelectric yet is consistently used to reset the energy field of other stones in lapidary tradition. White sage (Salvia apiana) is native to the coastal sage scrub of Southern California and Baja; it has been burned as a purifying smoke in Indigenous North American ceremonies for documented centuries.
