Polished hematite beads alternate with black agate throughout this bracelet. Hematite is iron oxide (Fe₂O₃), Mohs 5 to 6, with a high metallic luster that gives its beads a near-mirror finish. Black agate is chalcedony—microcrystalline quartz, Mohs 6.5 to 7—dyed or naturally dark, with a waxy to dull luster quite distinct from hematite's reflective surface. Together they create a bracelet that plays with two very different surface behaviors in the same color range. Hematite deposits: Brazil, Australia, South Africa. Agate: worldwide.

Hematite has been used for ornament and as a warrior's stone since at least ancient Babylon, over 3,000 years ago. Agate has been shaped into beads and seals since ancient Mesopotamia. Both stones are placed in the root chakra tradition, associated with grounding and steadiness.

Selenite is a crystalline form of gypsum (calcium sulfate dihydrate, CaSO&sub4;·2H&sub2;O), Mohs 2, with a distinctive fiber-optic luminescence and a silky, striated cleavage surface. It is one of the few minerals that is not itself piezoelectric yet is consistently used to reset the energy field of other stones in lapidary tradition. White sage (Salvia apiana) is native to the coastal sage scrub of Southern California and Baja; it has been burned as a purifying smoke in Indigenous North American ceremonies for documented centuries. The kit includes a selenite wand or slab and a bundle of dried white sage.

In contemporary crystal practice, selenite is placed under or alongside other stones to reset their energetic charge without water—important because many minerals (selenite included) should not be submerged.
