Beads the color of gunmetal, matte-finished so they absorb rather than reflect.
Hematite is iron(III) oxide—Fe₂O₃—one of the most abundant iron minerals on Earth, with a Mohs hardness of 5.5–6.5 and a characteristic brick-red to reddish-brown streak despite its silver-grey surface. The matte finish on these beads is achieved by tumbling to a lower polish level, pulling back the metallic mirror effect to a subdued satin. Hematite's high specific gravity (approximately 5.3 g/cm³) means these beads are noticeably heavier than their size suggests.
Hematite's use dates back over 3,000 years—Ancient Babylonian warriors wore it in battle. In tradition it is associated with the root and solar plexus chakras and linked in practice to grounding, focus, and confidence.
A bracelet with quiet visual weight—the matte finish reads closer to industrial than precious, intentionally.
