Bands of gold and brown that slide under the surface as the angle changes.
Tiger's eye is a pseudomorph: quartz that has replaced the fibrous amphibole mineral crocidolite (blue asbestos), retaining the parallel fiber structure while the chemistry converts entirely to silicon dioxide. That fiber alignment produces chatoyancy—the silky rolling luster that gives tiger's eye its name. Mohs hardness: 7. This multi-variety bracelet includes golden, red, and blue (hawk's eye) varieties; the red color results from iron oxide staining during oxidation of the original crocidolite fibers.
In Ancient Rome, soldiers carried tiger's eye as a protective stone in battle; in Egypt it was associated with the sun god Ra. In the chakra tradition it is linked to the solar plexus, sacral, and root chakras—associated in practice with focus, clarity, and confidence.
A bracelet that changes with movement—the chatoyancy is most visible in direct light.
