Quartz in the color of afternoon light—the November birthstone, worn since antiquity.
Citrine is silicon dioxide colored by trace ferric iron (Fe³♠) during geological formation; its pale lemon to deep amber range develops naturally through heat in sedimentary and metamorphic environments. True natural citrine is relatively uncommon—much commercial citrine is amethyst or smoky quartz that has been warmed to 400–500°C to shift the iron into its yellow-producing state. This tumbled stone is polished to a smooth, pocket-friendly form that carries the warm tone through the whole piece.
Citrine has been worn ornamentally since antiquity: the Scots set it in the handles of daggers and swords; Greeks carved it into intaglios; Egyptians used it as a talisman. As the traditional November birthstone, it has an established place in jewelry traditions. In contemporary practice it is linked to the solar plexus chakra and to confidence, optimism, and personal clarity.
A warm, low-profile tumbled stone—a first citrine, a birthday gift, or an easy everyday carry.
