Green and red in a single stone—two distinct minerals sharing a matrix.
Dragon's Blood is a trade name for a stone composed of green epidote and red piemontite within a jasper-like chalcedony matrix. Epidote is a calcium-aluminum-iron sorosilicate (Mohs 6–7) whose green color comes from iron in the crystal structure; piemontite is a manganese-bearing member of the epidote group, and its manganese content produces the red-to-pink coloration. The two minerals co-occur in metamorphic and metasomatic rock environments. Significant material comes from South Africa and Western Australia. The beads are drilled and strung on elastic, with the green and red pattern visible across every bead.
Dragon's Blood was historically given to warriors as a protective talisman before battle; the stone's combination of colors was associated with vitality and courage in several cultures. The green is linked in tradition to the heart chakra, with the broader stone associated with the root, sacral, solar plexus, and heart chakras and with vitality and grounded strength.
A bracelet for anyone drawn to a stone that carries its geology visibly on its surface—the two colors are the two minerals, undisguised.
