Tumble it and it still looks like money—the same brass-yellow surface that has fooled prospectors for centuries.
Pyrite is iron disulfide (FeS2), forming in the isometric crystal system and registering Mohs 6—6.5 on the hardness scale. Its brass-yellow metallic luster is native to the chemistry—a fresh fracture surface is just as bright as a polished one, with no enhancement of any kind. This tumbled stone is smooth and compact, easier to hold and carry than a raw cluster.
Pyrite's resemblance to gold earned it the name "fool's gold" in mining lore—it is one of the only non-metal minerals that will strike a spark if struck against steel. In the chakra tradition it is associated with the solar plexus chakra and with confidence and decisive action.
A pocket stone for the desk or collection—dense, bright, and more interesting up close than it first appears.
Every crystal is hand-picked for exceptional beauty, quality and energetic integrity, then vortex-charged in Sedona’s sacred energy. This process infuses each piece with a high-frequency presence, delivering a crystal experience that feels as powerful as it looks.
