Ocean jasper is a spherulitic chalcedony found only along the tidal zone of Madagascar's northwest coast. Its distinctive orbicular pattern forms as silica precipitates radially from nucleation points within the rock, producing concentric rings of varying mineral composition. The point is carved and polished to a high finish, which brings out the full color range—typically greens, pinks, yellows, and white—as well as the three-dimensional quality of the orbs. Mohs approximately 6.5–7.

In the chakra tradition, ocean jasper is associated with the heart chakra and linked to tranquility and steady focus. Its scarcity is genuine—the coastal outcrop at Marovato is the sole known source, and material must be collected at low tide.
