An orange that comes from the ocean and a blue that comes from copper in the desert ground—the defining color pairing of Southwest lapidary tradition.
Spiny oyster refers to the shell of Spondylus species—bivalve mollusks related to scallops, native to Pacific and Gulf of California waters, whose shells range from vivid orange to deep red and have been traded inland across the American Southwest for over 2,000 years. Turquoise is a copper aluminum phosphate that forms in arid zones where copper-laden groundwater deposits the mineral in veins and nodules through fractured rock; its blue comes directly from the copper in its chemistry. Both materials are mounted in solid .925 sterling silver.
Turquoise and spiny oyster together constitute one of the oldest continuous jewelry traditions in North America, carried in Pueblo, Navajo, and Zuni craft from the pre-Columbian period through to contemporary makers working in Sedona today.
A wearable piece of an unbroken tradition—two materials that belong together.
Every crystal is hand-picked for exceptional beauty, quality and energetic integrity, then vortex-charged in Sedona’s sacred energy. This process infuses each piece with a high-frequency presence, delivering a crystal experience that feels as powerful as it looks.
