Two minerals sharing one point—fluorite and jasper grown into a single carved column.
Fluorite is calcium fluoride (CaF²), Mohs hardness 4, with perfect octahedral cleavage in four directions—which makes it visually complex and somewhat challenging to carve. Jasper is an opaque microcrystalline quartz (SiO²), Mohs 6.5–7, significantly harder. Combining them in a single carved point means working across two different hardness levels and cleavage behaviors; the result shows the color and pattern boundary where the minerals meet. Fluorite takes its name from the Latin fluere (to flow) for its use as a smelting flux. Principal fluorite deposits come from China, Mexico, and the Illinois mining district.
Fluorite was used in ancient Chinese and Roman ornamental work, where its color range was often mistaken for jade or amethyst. Jasper has been shaped as a talisman and ceremonial stone across Mediterranean cultures since antiquity. In the chakra tradition, fluorite is associated with all chakras and with mental clarity.
A carved display point with a flat base for standing—the mineral boundary between the two stones is the feature.
