Rose veined with black, carved into the oldest symbolic form in lapidary work.
Rhodonite is a manganese inosilicate—the rose color comes from manganese in the crystal structure, the black veining from manganese oxide minerals that crystallized alongside it. An egg form requires the lapidary to work the stone from every angle, which is why the finished piece reveals both colors in full proportion. Mohs hardness 5.5—6, solid and satisfying in the palm.
First formally described from specimens collected in Russia's Ural Mountains in the 1790s, rhodonite takes its name from the Greek rhodon, meaning rose. The stone is now documented across many localities worldwide—Australia, Brazil, India, Madagascar. In the chakra tradition it corresponds to the heart and root chakras.
A small sculptural piece for a desk or display—each egg unique in its pattern of rose and black.
Every crystal is hand-picked for exceptional beauty, quality and energetic integrity, then vortex-charged in Sedona’s sacred energy. This process infuses each piece with a high-frequency presence, delivering a crystal experience that feels as powerful as it looks.
