A heart-shaped bowl of translucent gypsum that glows from within.
Selenite is a variety of gypsum (CaSO⊂4;·2H⊂2;O) that formed in ancient evaporite basins — the crystallized remains of concentrated seas. Mohs 2 hardness and flat cleavage planes make gypsum easy to carve into precise shapes; this bowl is hollowed into a stable heart form, the interior polished smooth. The stone’s characteristic translucency means the walls carry light through them rather than reflecting it off the surface. Water-soluble: keep dry.
In the chakra tradition, selenite is linked to the crown and third-eye chakras. Named for Selene, the Greek moon goddess, the stone has been present in ritual contexts across the ancient world — in Egyptian burial goods, Mesoamerican ceremonial objects, and Greek devotional practice. The heart form pairs the stone’s traditional associations with clarity and higher awareness with a universal symbol of connection.
A display bowl for rings, small stones, or other objects — or a decorative piece for a shelf where light can reach it.
